Getting Crafty

My dad is getting harder and harder to buy for these days, which makes birthdays and Christmas a challenge. This year for his birthday, I decided to get crafty (thanks to Pinterest and Vino and Van Gogh) and try out my very first on my own painting.

Keep in mind that this was for my dad so these were the main colors that I needed.

I started out painting the entire canvas red.

I bought a kit from WalMart that had the canvas, paints and brushes in it. I didn't want to go too big until I knew that I could do this and liked doing it. I now have plans to go back for more and am thinking ahead to what else I can do!!

This was the final product. I wasn't 100% in love with it, but for my first attempt, I didn't think it was too bad.

 Apparently my dad didn't either. This was his response when he opened it.

So, what else did the Miller family do for my dad's birthday weekend?!? A whole lot of this...

All in all, it was a great time had by all!!
