Leaping and Hoping

Today is Leap Day. February 29th.

Until last week, I was under the impression that everyone knew what Leap Day is. There was a lady that called our office to fuss about the appointment we had made for her child on the 29th. She (quite hatefully) stated, "I'm pretty sure there are only 28 days in February." When I explained to her that this was a Leap Year, she said she had never heard of that before. Really?! How are you a grown-up that doesn't know about Leap Year?! I remember learning about it in school and celebrating it when it came around. It even goes in the "30 days has September..." rhyme. Some people are just crazy!!

I, personally, associate Leap Year and the Summer Olympics. I love to watch the Olympics!! I have ever since I was a kid. I don't know what it is about those games that suck me in and fill me with American Pride, but they do - EVERY TIME!! I am already getting excited as I saw that the celebrations are beginning in London. That means the Olympics (and SUMMER) are getting closer and closer!! YAY!!

I'm sure you'll get lots more when the Olympics get here, so I won't go into great nostalgia now. We have plenty of time for that!!

In honor of Leap Day, I thought I would set you up with a link to a free Leap Day Coloring Page. Enjoy!!
